Michigan, you can! Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary is a great place to go to diving, see a museum or go on a glass-bottom boat tour. On top the free admission and being able to get tour of amazing shipwrecks, Thunder Bay is also a sanctuary for marine life of all kinds.

In Muskegon Michigan resides the largest amusement park in Michigan. With 52 rides for thrill seekers to tiny toddlers, Michigan’s Adventure is a great place for everyone. Created in 1907 by U of M, 700 acres of land has been used for gardens, preserves, and even research. Capri Drive Inn
Have you ever thought about what it was like to watch a movie in the 60s? Well at Capri Drive Inn you can! Opened in 1964 off US-12 in downtown Coldwater, Capri has been showing family favorite movies for decades. The parking lot can hold up to 900 cars and you can connect your car radio to hear the movie. They are open Friday to Sunday and box office opens at 8:30.
The Headlands
Seeing the Northern Lights is on many people’s bucket list. The beautiful lights swirling the sky is unimaginable. In Mackinaw City, a park resides called The Headlands where you can rent out a stargazing house or a guest house and be on a look out for the Northern Lights. The best time to see the lights is from May 1st – October 31st.
Pictured Rocks
Swimming and camping are a must for a fun Michigan Summer. One place in the Munising area called Pictured Rocks, is a great place to camp and swim. With its gorgeous multicolored unusual sandstone, Miners Castle and Chapel Rock, it’s a great place to get amazing photos or go looking for the shipwrecks by Au Sable Point lighthouse. You can camp, walk the trail, and even cliff dive off the rocks there. Its is a great place for anyone of any age.
Detroit Zoo
Going to the zoo is a classic for the summer. Seeing all the cool animals, learning about different things, and even being able to feed some of them. The Detroit Zoo is fun for the whole family. You can feed the giraffes and even go on the big carousel they have there. On top of those great events, you can also go into their 4-D Theater. Another fun thing to do with the family at zoo is your own private safari!
The National Cherry Festival
If anyone knows anything about Michigan, its that we are known for our cherries. In Traverse City, they hold The National Cherry Festival. It starts in early July and goes on for a week. They have live music, air shows, and even a Cherry Queen. They take pride in the amazing cherry flavored food you can get as well. It is very family-friendly and even has some carnival rides everyone can enjoy.
Greenfield Village
In Dearborn, there is a place called Greenfield Village. It is a town that looks like it was built back in 1800s. You can learn how things were made back in that time, experience a baseball game from 1867, pull glass, and experience how busy life was around the small-town center. Being able to learn about how the world came to can be exciting!
